The Cream Card 1999 revisited

Okay.
I am a creator. I start ish up "generating intellectual properties since 1997".
March 11, 1999 I was in Atlanta publishing shorts as pre-Ludacris on air personality Chris Lova Lova and Poon Daddy lit up the radio air waves. No worries. The Cream Card is 95% original from my short fiction column in Rolling Out, the hustle. Talkin' 'bout those quick stories for a quick read and I loved writing 'em. The concept described rings true and after putting Puff in it, I had to bring it back to a time when I really started asking the question 'what makes someone a success?'
Next I started peeping answers.

Two men relax off to the side under a tree as their families relate over wings, macaroni and cheese, and greens. Each has put in his time as a young single man, husband, businessman, and father. Lounging in lawn chairs, the sun shines down in slits through the leaves.
“Look at my boy over there.” the first gentleman nods, “He just started college at Morehouse. From the catches of conversations we have had and what I overhear him say to his friends, he seems to be quite the ladies man.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, I think he might have too much of his old man in him.”
“Nah, I think you were the one that got 'macked on by the misses' as they put it.”
Chuckling “Yeah well, if I had to lose then I could not have picked a better opponent."
After a moment the first gentleman continued, "But still he might get the card.”
“You really think he could qualify for a cream card?”
“What is a cream card?” Derek asks strolling up before the first gentleman could reply with a friend in tow. “Is that a credit card you are going to pay off for me?”
Looking around his father says low, “Listen, a cream card is not something tangible. A lot of people have it. I do and Bill does. It is like a credit card but it never expires. After a while, you either choose to use it or not. I only use mine for business and when I want to romance your mother.”
“So how do you get one?”
“You have to be born with it,” the father gentleman replies, “Those who hold it usually have the finer things in life. They have nice cars and clothes and look good. Yet these things are not required to have the card but are usually by products of it. The card allows you to function in many different situations. Those that have it are usually creative and definitely innovative. They also have the gift of gab and can talk their way in and out of things.”
“Dad," a little perplexed,"how do you think I might have it?”
“Well, answer these three questions and you will know for yourself. Question one; do you find yourself participating in things that can promote you socially? Question two; do you happen to surround yourself with other influential individuals? Question three; do you constantly find yourself in situations that allow you to think outside the box? If you answer yes to all of these then you have the card. It allows you to talk your way through many situations like interviews. You might even be able to gain political office or be an entrepreneur. The card is only held by charismatic individuals that can influence others. I am and I think you might be too. Go on and eat now, we will talk more about it later. Your mother is coming over.”
“Does mom have the cream card too?”
“Hell yeah, how do you think she keeps me interested in her all these years?”
